EMDR Training
EMDR Basic Training with Elena Engle
The Beginning of Something Extraordinary
Every EMDR therapist remembers where their journey began. Basic Training is the beginning of learning a therapeutic approach that continues to shape the way many of us think about healing throughout our careers. It’s a privilege to introduce fellow clinicians to work that has profoundly influenced my own, and to welcome them into a community that continues to learn, grow, and support one another.
Why Learn EMDR?
EMDR is recognized around the world for its effectiveness in treating trauma and helping people move beyond experiences that continue to shape their lives. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate not only what EMDR can do for clients, but how it continues to shape the therapists who practice it.
Helping Clients Heal
EMDR helps people process traumatic and distressing experiences that continue to affect the present.
By supporting the brain’s natural capacity to reprocess those experiences, therapists can help clients move toward meaningful and lasting change.
A Structured Clinical Approach
EMDR provides therapists with a well-developed treatment model that supports assessment, case conceptualization, and clinical decision-making.
Its structure offers guidance while still leaving room for thoughtful, individualized care.
Growing as a Therapist
Learning EMDR is about more than acquiring a new skill.
As therapists gain experience, consultation, and continued education, many find that EMDR deepens their clinical judgment, confidence, and understanding of the therapeutic process.
A Profession That Keeps Learning
One of the things I value most about EMDR is its community.
Basic Training is only the beginning of a professional journey supported by consultation, continuing education, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping clients heal.
Why I Teach EMDR
Confidence grows one client, one consultation, and one insight at a time.
I teach because I believe every therapist who learns EMDR has the potential to change far more lives than their own.
Through EMDR Educators, I have the opportunity to introduce clinicians to work that continues to shape my own understanding of healing while supporting them as they begin developing their own confidence, judgment, and clinical voice.
What You'll Learn
Application
Learn the EMDR standard protocol and begin developing the clinical judgment and practical skills needed to integrate it into your work.
Understanding
Develop a deeper understanding of trauma, adaptive information processing, and the clinical principles that guide EMDR therapy.
Growth
Continue building confidence through consultation, experience, and a community of clinicians committed to lifelong learning.
Basic Training is designed to provide both the knowledge and the experience needed to begin practicing EMDR with confidence. Through lecture, demonstration, practicum, and consultation, you’ll build a strong foundation while continuing to develop your own clinical judgment, always with the goal of providing thoughtful, effective care for the clients you serve.
